my yoga story.

i found yoga in 2014. i was going through a rough pass yet, every time i’d walk out of a yoga class, i’d feel so in flow and at ease.

curious to learn more, i signed up to a 200hrs YTT in ashtanga-vinyasa in rome. though the idea of becoming a teacher was an exciting prospect, my inner critic reminded me of all my imperfections. of everything i wasn’t, rather than what i was.

my wish to continue growing was strong, however. so i soon did another 200hrs YTT in hatha and ashtanga-vinyasa in india. there, our teachers focused a lot on modifying and adapting the practice to our respective needs. it finally clicked: yoga is not about being or becoming perfect, it’s about showing up + gaining a little more awareness each day.

i believe we’re all teachers and learners in this life. that’s why, no matter how advanced we may be in our yoga journeys, we’ll always be practitioners. not so we can get the pose right, but to understand our experience of it. that’s how yoga can really begin to transform our lives.

i eventually completed my 300hrs YTT + master training with sattva yoga academy, which offers one of the most comprehensive approaches that exists. In addition to the physical practice, these sacred teachings include meditation, pranayama, kriyas, sound healing, devotional rituals, partner work and so much wisdom. it beautifully complements the work I do with compassionate inquiry + between us and allows me to further support my clients in their growth journeys.
